Non-Profit Organizations
HOCKEYGURL DESIGNS works with non-profit organizations of all kinds to provide them with the most efficient and cost-effective web presence. These organizations range in type from animal rescue, to political, to community support groups. We provide reduced rates for the design, development and maintenance of these projects, and have done many of them at no charge.
POUND ANIMALS WORTH SAVING (P.A.W.S)
Pound Animals Worth Saving is a 501c3 non-profit charitable corporation. They are dedicated to saving the lives of as many dogs and cats as possible from the county pounds, abusive environments, and owner surrenders.
Most of the P.A.W.S. team are, or were, Maricopa County Animal Care and Control volunteers and have formed this rescue group as a result of their combined expertise. While volunteering at the pound, they witnessed first-hand how critical it is to find these animals secure, loving and lifelong homes.
AZ Arboretums is a website with information and links to arboretums and botanical gardens across the State of Arizona.
It also includes an extensive and comprehensive plant list for the Desert Southwest, with botanical information, planting guides, and photos for over 250 listings.
Visitors can send their plant questions and problems to "The Plant Man" for specific information and assistance.
The new updated design features upgraded galleries and a more user friendly platform. And another design update is in the works, with search features added for plant identification.
The Red Rocks Music Festival educates, engages and challenges audiences through a unique collaboration of musicians from leading Arizona performing arts organizations and world-acclaimed artists. An integral part of the Festival’s mission is education.
Master classes and workshops enable young musicians to learn skills from master musicians. The festival provides outreach educational music programs that inspire students to appreciate and continue their interest in the arts.
Culver Ice Foundation (CIF) was formed through an existing 501 c 3, Culver City and California nonprofit, in an attempt to save the Culver City Ice Arena. This attempt was unsuccesful, and the website has been taken down.
Culver Ice Foundation's mission was to facilitate basic ice skating instruction and ice rink recreation for youth throughout the community. Through a scholarship program, CIF will expand the instructional program to children from low-income families, at-risk and special needs children by providing funds for basic instruction and equipment. The CIF goal is to provide 300 scholarships to youth during the first year of operation. There is currently an attempt to procure or build another ice facility for this purpose.
MARICOPA COUNTY DEMOCRATS LEGISLATIVE DISTRICT 17
This website was originally developed for the District 17 Democrats in Maricopa County, Arizona. It contained important dates, voter registration information, candidate information, an events calendar. and other party information. It was taken over by the State Democratic Party and has been transferred to Nationbuilder, which is a CMS designed for political organizations. The site is maintained by members of the District 17 organization.
Official Phoenix Coyotes Booster Club website, which was recently shut down.
New owners are going to add stability both on and off the ice, and the Coyotes will finally be recognized as one of the premier sports in the Valley. We hope that this Booster Club will see a revival in the near future.
KRISTIE O'BRIEN FOR ARIZONA STATE SENATE
Website for the 2014 Kristie O'Brien for Arizona State Senate campaign.

The mission of the NHL Booster Club is to create an environment where individuals from our member clubs can develop relationships that improve their communities, friendships and the sport of hockey across North America and Canada.
A member club in good standing that wants to bid for an annual convention must submit a letter of intent in writing to the President of the NHLBC and the other Member Clubs.
This website was turned over to the Booster Club membership to manage and maintain.
'
Mutt Love Rescue is a non-profit, no-kill, volunteer dog rescue organization serving the Washington, DC, metro area.
They are dedicated to rescuing dogs left homeless for whatever reason – dogs in public shelters where they are at high risk of euthanasia due to pet overpopulation, dogs given up by their owners because of difficult circumstances, and those in danger of abuse or neglect.
We designed and developed the site for this organization; our design is still being used but is maintained by another web firm. We have not been credited for our design on this site.
BILL GATES FOR THE ARIZONA STATE SENATE
Website developed for Arizona State Senate candidate Bill Gates for his 2012 campaign.

KARYN LATHAN FOR THE ARIZONA HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES
As an Arizona native, Karyn remembers when Chandler was a rural farming community. Since then, she has had the pleasure of watching the community grow into a vibrant place to work, live and raise a family.
Karyn felt that the people of Arizona needed someone who will fight for their interests, not a partisan official caring only for the special interests they serve, which is why she ran for political office in 2012.
REBECCA SCHNEIDER FOR CONGRESS
HockeyGurl Designs provided web design and development to the Rebecca Schneider for Congress campaign in 2010.
The website design was based upon a Powerpoint presentation provided by the campaign, and included press releases, news feeds, an event calender, and a series of YouTube videos produced by the Rebecca Schneider campaign.
This website is no longer active, but can be viewed as a PDF by clicking on the thumbnail on the right.
Rebecca is no longer with us, and is in our thoughts daily. RIP.
HockeyGurl Designs provided web design and development to the National Eye Foundation at no charge.
The website at right was created and our time was donated. The site went live in 2012.
This website design was removed without notice and our contract agreement with this organization was violated, so our links to the live website have been replaced with a screenshot of the design and development work we did for them. The organization is no longer active, and the domain name has not been renewed.
ARIZONA COALITION FOR VICTIM SERVICES
The Arizona Coalition for Victim Services (ACVS) promotes awareness, training, and advocacy to statewide crime victim services providers. We are committed to the enhancement and protection of victims’ rights and needs.
Our original design is no longer live, and has been replaced by an in-house WordPress site.
However, our original concept, based on their design guidelines, can be viewed in PDF format by clicking on the thumbnail at the right.
SAVE OF THE DAY FOUNDATIONThe Robert Esche Save of the Day Foundation was a non-profit organization committed to enhance the life experience of those children and their families living with life threatening illnesses in the Mohawk Valley of upstate New York.
It was the Foundation's desire to impact the quality of life of an individual who does not have the financial support structure or the diverse opportunity to act themselves.
The foundation is now part of the Utica Comets AHL organization, and can be viewed on the Utica Comet website. You may view a PDF of our final design for this organization by clicking the thumbnail on the right.
